Cyber Security Consultant (6-month contract - £458 per day INSIDE IR35)

Lorien is delighted to be looking for a temporary 6-month contractor to join our clients Cyber Security team, as a Security Consultant. This is a great opportunity to enhance your analytical, communication and leadership skills as well as the opportunity to meet new people across the business and make a different to our customers and colleagues.

Duties:

• Ensure that security risks are recognized, adequately managed, or minimized in accordance with the business's risk appetite by conducting thorough analyses of prospective third-party services or software.
• Summarize your results and specify recommendations for addressing any control gaps found throughout the review.
• Create questions with an information security focus for the initial RFI/RFP process.
• Provide an information security opinion on each proposal, making sure the project is aware of the major risks.
• Create the contract's security clause and work with Legal Services to modify it as necessary to address any findings or risks found during the security evaluation.
• Provide Legal/Procurement guidance and direction on the security clauses' substance when the supplier is drafting or producing the contract.
• Coordinate with a variety of parties engaged in bringing on new suppliers for the company.
• Create and maintain relationships with key business and technical stakeholders, central operations, important outside partners, and supplier contacts to enable onboarding, both within and internationally.
• Cooperate closely with Design, Build, and Test personnel, Business Stakeholders, and Suppliers to ensure that security needs and controls are executed.
• Represent the Cyber Projects team by offering security guidance regarding the solution(s) being offered at Programme/Workstream level Design Authorities and Workstream daily stand ups.
• Promote adherence to legal, regulatory, and scheme security obligations as well as information security standards.
• Ensure that pertinent security risks are recognized, defined, and reviewed in accordance with risk appetite.
• Provide solutions that benefit both security and business by designing security tests at a detailed level and working closely with them to manage any corrective action.
• Using complex business concerns to produce solutions that benefit both the business and security.

Skills:

• Wide-ranging knowledge and comprehension of the security-related technical measures that limit or eliminate the hazards associated with cyber security.
• Practical knowledge and verifiable expertise in information security-related policies, standards, and procedures, as well as in the related laws and standards for information security schemes, in particular; the ISO27001 Framework.
• Knowledge of the people, tactics, and attack vectors related to cyber security
• The capacity to operate across a wide range of frameworks and models and possess strong analytical abilities.
• The capacity to recognize and communicate enterprise-level risk.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and persuasion skills with a wide spectrum of technical and non-technical stakeholders and at all levels.
• Excellent presenting, oral, and writing communication skills, including the capacity to explain difficult technical ideas and problems to non-technical co-workers.
