Solutions Architect - Outside IR35

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join their Edinburgh team for a 6-months initial contract.

THIS ROLE SITS OUTSIDE IR35

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a holistic view of the IT Architecture across a well-defined project/programme or a moderately sized enterprise, using appropriate architecture models to document this to ensure technical integrity.
• Provide technical leadership on all design aspects of an individual project or programme of work to ensure optimal use of existing technologies, or recommend use of new or innovative technologies.
• Provide recommendations on the optimum systems architecture for a given project or enterprise to ensure maximum return on IT investment.
• Understand the current and future IT needs for a well-defined enterprise or individual programme of work and design the optimum IT architecture to meet these needs.
• Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure project managers and business sponsors are aware of the impact of the IT investment in a given project or across an enterprise.
• Ensure appropriate checks and controls are carried out within the design and implementation to ensure resulting architecture adheres to appropriate IT governance and standards.
• Maintaining both a breadth and depth of specialist IT knowledge.
• Operating across a variety of environments including potentially across all parts of the Group.
• Maintaining an up to date awareness and knowledge of the methods and tools used in the Company and externally within the industry.
• Gaining consensus for technology direction across boundaries where different priorities and agendas can be in conflict.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Solution Architecture experience of 3+ years
• Education - Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent)
• Languages - English

Desirable

• Knowledge of Pensions and Savings
• Previous Standard Life systems knowledge
