As a Solutions Architect / Technical Lead you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure that this global organisation are developing strong strategy, design and development engineering skills across the organisation. You will partner with other Architects, Product Owners, Developers and Testers to identify tools and platforms that improve the departments ability to continuously deliver quality to our customers. You will also work with the head of portfolio to ensure the products we have are robust and resilient and support our business to remain operationally efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Solutions Architect /Technical Lead, responsible for: ·

Solution Design, understand the individual application projects and products to refine the existing detailed designs (based on the high level design considerations and transition states) to a sufficient level of detail for translation into technical deliverables o Collaborate with Chief Product Owner, Architects and Development teams to develop the solution design, aligning detailed designs with the high level design and escalating any deviations

o Work closely with software architects, challenging their decisions and collaborating with them to optimise technical designs and translate them into technical deliverables

o Lead the decision-making process with all levels of Digital staff and management, as well as on individual project teams and make recommendations to effectively implement project requirements · Business Customer Journey

o Documenting key transition states from a customer experience point of view and technology evolution throughout these states

o Supporting business customer journey mapping by highlighting technology implications and considerations · Technology Capabilities & Standards

o Provide application design and programming expertise and guidance to IT professionals involved in the development and enhancement of business applications

o Work with IT functional areas to identify, propose and implement new technologies as solutions to business needs, based on strategic direction and priorities o Aligning the detailed designs with the wider IT technology framework and standards

o Create technical documentation for development solutions, future reference and reporting · Supporting the Claims & Group Functions Portfolio

o Work with agile development teams to build and enhance a growing software platform and provide technical leadership throughout the technical design and sprint process and ensure the team delivers high quality work that aligns with the mission of the USP

o Become a technical advocate improving communications with developers and have a good understanding of their challenges

o May be 'hands-on' and mentoring, including recommending and implementing improvements in the development process and conducting peer reviews of developer's code if required

o Support the team in working towards continuous integration and continuous deployment, work to remove technical impediments raised by the team and proactively escalate relevant issues to the Executive Action Team (EAT) · A

Skills and Experience

· Proven experience (a minimum of three years) as a Solutions Architect /Technical Lead, Solutions Engineer or similar role, working within Agile frameworks and associated architectures, design, coding languages and testing & deployment tools, including the following:

o Ci/Cd pipeline build & deployment tools e.g. Bamboo o Micro services & APIs

o Cloud experience (AWS & Azure) and serverless code deployment

o API integration experience, REST preferred

o Understanding of event driven architecture.

o Different AWS deployment methods e.g. native EC2, Cloud Foundry & Docker

o An understanding of Microsoft SharePoint and Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI) · Experience of architecture modelling, e.g. UML, C4 · Experience in using Jira & Confluence

· Experience in identifying and translating functional and non-function requirements into high level solution options · Familiar with design thinking, behaviour and test-driven development/familiarity with test-and-learn approaches · Experience of SQL database and migration to Azure and AWS · Knowledge of containerised deployments and optimisation techniques & tools eg Docker .Strong communication skills , used to presenting and working with architecture review boards to deliver solutions. Ideally experience within the insurance or financail services sector .
