Do you understand the world of UAT and what best in class UAT testing looks like?You'll be joining a team with lots if internal expertise in UAT, what we need from you is to understand what great looks like in the team across people, testing, reporting and setting and standardising how the reporting applies to the different business units and providing timely technical solutions.You'll be joining at exciting time as we embark on digital transformation and moving to an agile way of working, you'll be able to bring your external expertise and enthusiasm setting and implementing a strategy which supports our vison across technology and change.What You'll Be DoingYou'll define and build a scalable UAT capability, planning, executing and reporting of all User Acceptance testing for all change initiatives delivered by the Change team. You'll put in place a best practice UAT processes and approaches. The Business Change team use an established Project Management methodology, it will be the responsibility of the User Acceptance Manager to develop the UAT processes against the different phases of that methodology to include activities and deliverables related to UAT.* Development of a comprehensive UAT methodology based on industry best practice.* Develops processes and content for the training and scheduling of business testers.* Ensures correct quality and coverage of all testing scenarios / models to provide appropriate test coverage and quality results and definition of UAT phase entry and exit criteria.* Works closely with the Lead QA Engineer in Technology to ensure alignment of UAT strategy to wider QA strategy, and to feed into overall regression approach and any automation builds.* Be the main testing authority within the Business Change team and provide guidance on all relevant areas.* Evaluates, maintains and improves UAT processes, roles and responsibilities within the end to end project development life-cycle. This includes testing of small changes and business as usual changes.* Evaluates and implements training and development needs for team - both UAT staff and Business testers providing, mentoring and career development.* Evaluates the future UAT requirements and implements a resourcing plan to meet those needs, considering both inhouse and external solutions.* Puts in place testing metrics and measurements for the consistency and quality of the UAT function - including standard UAT progress reports for all projects, covering exposure, pass rates, defect burndowns.* Puts in place metrics and reporting to track and improve defect leakage* Provides leadership to their team by setting priorities and providing a strategic and tactical vision for the team. Identifies areas for improved testing efficiency, test automation and facilitates implementation of automated test scripts.* Lead, manage and develop a small team of UAT leads and testers, coaching them to high performance.* Actively contribute to the development of the wider Business Change team.Person SpecificationOur must haves:* Possesses a broad knowledge of all testing events throughout the development lifecycle.* Have a real enthusiasm for UAT and quality assurance in general.* Experience of managing and leading a team.* Well honed interpersonal and communication skills and is able to deal directly with clients/users.* Ability to read and comprehend business requirements and high level design deliverables well enough to commission detailed test cases. Ability to map test cases to business requirements.* A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through. Takes a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to testing and problem management.* Good prioritisation and time management - excellent organisation skills.* Experience of managing supplier agreements and external teams.* Ability to work to agreed deadlines in a matrix management environment.
