Data Engineer - Financial Services

This role will work as a Data Engineer within a retail banking organisations, working with teams that own various banking products and services. This role will be handling data sourced from the lake, information around banking regulations and migrations in to cloud servers.

The key responsibilities for this role includes:

• Complete the analysis, design and build of data models, analytical models and business and personal insights
• Leverage the data platforms efficiently across the technology stack to ensure reuse and minimal duplication. To create golden source repositories that support business units and propositions alike
• Ensures that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards.

The key experience and knowledge required for this role includes:

• Wider-thinking and problem solving - identifying and delivering reporting through own initiative.
• Understanding of change management process.
• SQL (Impala/Hive/Snowflake)
• Hadoop/EMR/Spark/Scala
• Data structures (tables, views, stored procedures)
• Data Modelling - star/snowflake Schemas, efficient storage, normalisation
• Data Transformation
