Genius Systems Analyst / Genius Technical BA - Underwriting

A Multinational Insurance Company is looking for experienced Genius Systems Analysts to join their team. Genius Underwriting experience is mandatory for this role. Hence, we are considering any titles with strong Configuration experience and a long track record using Genius Configuration systems to take on the Systems analyst role.

The IT Underwriting Team is made up of Systems Analysts (BSAs) and Development & Testing people who deliver day to day 'Business as Usual' support and the delivery of enhancements and new applications to support the underwriting teams. The applications are used in their offices from Latin America and across Europe and the MiddleEast, through to Lloyd's China. The Team works closely with other US based Global Specialty and Central IT Teams including Development, Testing, Change Management and Incident Management

The company is progressively implementing Agile practices and seeks to recruit an experienced Systems Analyst to support the Genius Products and enhancement thereto , working alongside GRS IT development team to understand its priorities , ensuring that business needs are understood and met.

Agile experience is however not a requirement as we are considering Genius experts who have worked in Waterfall environments as well.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain operability of a key Underwriting application (Genius)
• Manage support calls performing triage activities to determine severity of issues and directing to the appropriate team(s) for resolution.
• Work closely with GRS IT Genius Agile delivery team ensuring the validity of delivery items meet the LSM defined requirement
• Working with product owner to understand and set priorties
• Work closely with third party development and IT teams to deliver application upgrades
• Document, maintain and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Adhere to IT processes for the control of application access, permissions and profiles
• Develop system test plans and test scripts and approve new system behaviours to ensure alignments with business / system objectives Communication of releases, updates and enhancements to relevant departments

Skills and Experience

• Proven background configuarating Genius
• Experience in application support (user support and vendor engagement)
• Experience in working in an Agile delivery (sprint cycles/releases) and knowledge of Agile methodologies - use of JIRA would be preferable
• Working knowledge and exposure to IT concepts and methodologies, systems development lifecycle,information management and portfolio management (production systems, release planning, change management)
• Strong oral and written communicate skills; presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Underwriting business functions and business operations.
