Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Python/Bash)

£85,000 - £95,000 + Annual Bonus

A globally recognised powerhouse of a bank with over 30,000 employees worldwide is currently looking to extend the cloud engineer team who are responsible for their brand new payment platform. They are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join their well-established DevOps team. This role will report into the Vice President and is the most senior role in the DevOps team, taking the lead of future and ongoing projects.

The Lead DevOps Engineer will have a significant impact on leading the brand new payment product, as they will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient deployment and operation of the product, as well as continuously improving its performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the development and implementation of the DevOps strategy for the product.
• Collaboration with development and operations teams to design and implement infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Automating the build, test, and deployment process for code changes.
• Managing and maintaining the infrastructure for the product.
• Ensuring the availability, scalability and security of the product or project.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other members of the DevOps team.

Skills Required:

• Strong exposure to AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Route53, Auto scaling groups, CloudWatch, IAM (5+ years).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as ansible.
• Strong skills in building infrastructure using either Terraform or CloudFormation
• Strong Linux skills (Ubuntu, Debian etc.).
• Experience of using Docker for containerisation purposes.
• Strong experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using the likes of GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, CodeBuild etc.
• Familiarity with scripting (Bash or Python).
• Monitoring and alerting tools - Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk, ELK.
