Senior Product Owner - Reinsurance

A leading Insurance company are currently looking for a Senior Product owner with reinsurance experience to join the team on a permanent basis. This will be a Hybrid based role with 2 days a week in the office required.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Delivery team, the Senior Product Owner provides vision and clarity to the team, the product's stakeholders, customers and users alike to set the direction for achieving the outcomes and highest value to the customer and will:

* Represent the voice of the customer and the organisation through the delivery of business value and work closely with business sponsors and stakeholder to establish a vision and road map

* Acts as the go-to source for both the team and the product's stakeholders when they want to know something about the product's purpose or intent

* Actively manage stakeholder groups and is able to operate at both a strategic direction level, facilitating key discussions and decisions and also on a day to day basis to provide direction for delivery

* Maximises the value of the product, by prioritising the highest value first, and by making economically sensible choices and defines and prioritises features, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organisational goals * Builds the Subject Matter Expertise in the areas of the business to which the outcomes are being delivered, to enable clear articulation, knowledge to be shared and informed decisions to be made

* Collaborates with the GRS Architecture Team and assigned Architect to make sure that architecture direction and decisions relating to the technologies supporting the platform are appropriately discussed and debated to get to the best outcomes for the customer

* Set expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, processes, features and is responsible for developing clear, actionable user stories

* Own and maintains the product backlog and is accountable for its maintenance working with product analysts on the creation of content

* Work effectively as part of a team alongside the Scrum Master, development team and other team members, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks and open issues/questions as quickly and efficiently as possible

* Contribute to Portfolio level 30/60/90-day planning sessions and set expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionality

* Actively participate in Sprint ceremonies and supports the

* Communicate expected value and any changes in value to be delivered in each iteration based on the capacity, as determined by the development team

* Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to the companies commitment to placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. the companie expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistle blowing

Skills and Experience

* Experience of managing and delivering an target operating model initiative within the Insurance sector

* Experience in Product Management, Delivery management or equivalent the companies experience

* Considerable relevant industry or functional experience in Insurance, including in Speciality, Commercial and ideally M&A business and associated product lines

* Experience of working with third-party suppliers * Strong communication and presentation skills

* Demonstrable experience of delivering complex initiatives

* Experienced Agile practitioner capabilities and experience working in Agile teams

* Ability to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders and capture complex requirements in a prioritised backlog

* Strong teamwork, co-ordination, organisation and planning skills

* Ability to understand strategic needs whilst focusing on the customer

* Demonstrable experience of mentoring and supporting less experienced Product Owners

* Good analytically and problem-solving skills
