Finance Project / Programme Manager - Must be Accountancy Qualified - Outside IR35

Our client, a leading Insurance company, are currently looking to hire a Senior Project Manager with experience in Finance and IBA (Insurance Broking Accounting), with a recognised accounting qualification a requirement for this position. This role would be Hybrid Working and Outside IR35.

In this role of Senior Project / Programme Manager you will be working on this exciting Global broking platform initiative to drive business transformation. You will drive the delivery of the global IBA module and changes impacted/driven by finance.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Support the global product owners (IBA & Finance) to deliver a robust plan that is focused on priorities and delivering identified business benefits
  • Provide governance around the delivery, reporting progress, escalations and recommendations for change to the steering group for discussion and approval
  • Monitor and drive project deliverables in line with the project plan, recording, re-assessing and managing issues, through effective risk management control, escalating decision requirements as appropriate and that benefits remain valid throughout the project lifecycle
  • Consolidate plans, resources and dependencies liaising on a day to day basis between applicable projects
  • Ensure that appropriate levels of control are in place to manage resources either directly or indirectly to effectively deliver the project and that effective change control processes are in place to allow project delivery to cost, time and quality standards

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to communicate clearly with a high degree of clarity and professionalism
  • Strong project and resource planning skills, experience of managing challenging projects, delivering business synergies and reducing costs
  • Solid analytical and organisational skills with the ability to review, challenge and approve process analysis and business requirements and other related documentation
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships across the organisation


  1. Experience of managing finance software and major business change implementations
  2. Managed projects including both offshore and onshore resource and shared resources
  3. Previous experience of working in a Global business environment
  4. Experience of operating within highly regulated environments
  5. Working on a mixture of waterfall and/or Agile environments


Essential: Recognised accounting qualification

Desirable: PRINCE2, PMP OR MPS qualification and membership & Lean methodology certification
