Lorien Global are working with a large financial services organisation with a view to recruit an experienced Analysis Actuary on a 12-month FTC. The role is site agnostic of which there are offices in: Preston, Telford, Norwich, Hitchin, London, Wythall and Hove.

In this role, you will be taking a key role in the Regulatory Reporting Analysis team, with responsibility for overseeing a number of key processes for regulatory (both Solvency II and IFRS) reporting. You will be involved in the development and operation of calculations and providing associated documents and reports, including analysis to the Technical Provisions Committee. You will provide key support to the maintenance and updating of other Solvency II documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Production and review of specific calculations within the team, such as deferred tax or group expenses. Develop expertise and ensure calculations are produced accurately and efficiently.
  • Responsibility with other team members for producing regular sensitivities and scenario results (mainly Solvency II) - consolidating inputs from other teams and analysing the results
  • Input into setting of assumptions and updates to methodology
  • Contributing to internal quarterly templates for Solvency II and writing up into reports to management / Board
  • Analyse results (both Solvency II and IFRS) from Actuarial model teams and provide commentary

Key skills/experience required:

  • Good organisational skills
  • Very good communication skills - both obtaining relevant inputs from various teams and clearly sharing outcomes and proposals for decision-makers
  • Knowledge of Solvency II Regulation and familiarity with QRTs
