What is the role?

We are looking for an experienced database developer to design stable and reliable PL/SQL code within our databases with specific experience in ETL.

You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing database and ETL code to help users retrieve and process data as efficiently and effectively as possible.

As part of the database team, you will work closely with other developers to ensure system consistency and performance. You'll also collaborate with other members of the wider team to provide technical support and identify new data requirements.

Communication and organisation skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude.

What skills and experience will you have?

  • The ideal candidate would be used to working with other DBAs, architects and developers to deliver innovative solutions and solve complex problems.
  • Experience in developing highly efficient code for high volume transactional sites such as e-commerce or online gaming.
  • Significant experience as a PL/SQL database developer with demonstrable experience focused on MySQL or Oracle
  • Knowledge of standards and best practices in PL/SQL
  • Experience in a 24x7, high traffic OLTP environment

Our client offers a strong remuneration and benefits package, and the role will be working from home 3 days per week with 2 days in the central Manchester office.
