Assistant Information Security Technical Administrator - Risk, Change, Configuration Management
Under the close supervision of the Manager and delegated Lead IS Risks & Continuous Monitoring, provides specialized support for activities related to daily operation and administration of change and configuration management monitoring processes with a focus on maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the ISO’s information assets. Supports and participates in the implementation, maintenance, improvement and monitoring of organizational processes.
Assignments typically include daily maintenance activities in compliance with established department and corporate policies, procedures and methods. Provides customer service and support in all aspects of the Tripwire system for internal customers. Assists in the analysis and improvement of processes involving Information Security Risk, Change, and Configuration Mgmt.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
50% Learns and assists to maintain and improve the continuous monitoring program, which includes vendor supported and customized organizational tools and processes. Monitors daily reporting of program tools and processes. Performs weekly summary report to IT Managers and monthly reports for CIO IS Report.
25% Partners with other IS Analysts to supports the development, maintenance and improvement of vendor supported and customized organizational processes related to information security monitoring of asset, patch, network, vulnerability, change and configuration management.
10% Learns consistent security and compliance monitoring processes for information security related policies, processes, metrics, and methods across the organization.
05% Provides support to the Enterprise Information Security Program. Learns to assess methods on metrics in Enterprise Information Security Management practices.
05% Learns process flow and control improvements to minimize business and exposure risks.
05% Participates in the development and management of the Information Security strategic direction to improve the information security posture and ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the ISO’s information assets are maintained.
Level of Education and Discipline:
A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). May include specialized or vocational courses in Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field. Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) is strongly desirable
Amount of Experience:
Equivalent years of education and training, plus two (2) or more years related experience
Type of Experience
Technical data entry. Technical writing.
Administrative support for asset management, configuration management.
Working knowledge in supporting one of the following disciplines: asset, patch, network, vulnerability, user access, or change and configuration management.Familiar with Tripwire Enterprise administration, MS SQL and Oracle database principles, and/or web API data collection using scripting, troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis, scripting languages and Excel functions desired.
Additional skills and abilities:
Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills required, with a demonstrated attention to detail.Ability to use deductive reasoning and analytical thinking with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are also essential.Must be self-starting in a dynamic corporate organization under pressure of tight deadlines and aggressive expectations.Problem solving skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and team member.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Tripwire Enterprise experience preferred. Understanding of internetworking principles and devices such as IPv4, *nix, Windows and Cisco.
