Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Telford (50% working from home)

As an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer, you will assist with building out a new Azure Landing Zone. You will be acting as an Azure Cloud Subject Matter Expert with an in depth technical background in various areas of modern technology stacks and a focus on deployment to Azure. Working according to the job brief provided by the Project Manager and Technical Architect, and liaising and coordinating with the wider project team, you will define, deliver and configure the selected components of the build. Utilising a wide range of practical experience delivering digital platforms, and with understanding of Agile methodologies and popular Agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum and Kanban), you will work with the Project Team to deliver the defined project objectives, on time, and to the required scope and quality.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and manage CI/CD process for applications, automating as much as possible under guidance of seniors
  • Develop, Manage and support environments in Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Support development teams for technical approach to continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Set up monitoring and optimise for cost and performance under guidance of seniors
  • Manage the full release and support process following defined processes
  • Work with the wider project team, (PM, EA, SA, TA, BA, Engineering SMEs), in effective delivery of solutions.

Key skills/experience required:

You will have a minimum 12 months experience of the following:

  • Azure Active Directory (Authentication & RBAC)
  • Development / build & management of CI/CD pipelines in either Azure DevOps or Jenkins for both application and infrastructure code, including Automated build & release pipelines, Code quality checks, Unit, integration and functional tests (integrated into pipeline).
  • PowerShell scripting for custom tasks automation
  • Good Understanding of Azure Policies and Azure Blueprints
  • Azure image builder and image build process
  • Understanding of GIT usage and branching practices
  • Exposure to Agile delivery (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)
  • Clearly and effectively document the work you are doing
  • Ability to work successfully as a team member
  • Easy-going, friendly, communicative, positive in relations with colleagues, in every situation strives to see opportunities rather than problems
  • Expert in IaC (Terraform)
  • Skills in multiple CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Skills in both Windows and Linux OS
