Senior Product Owner - Permanent

We are currently looking for a Product Owner to work with one of the world's leading specialist re/insurers. The role sits in the Digital Transformation team which reports into the Chief Digital Transformation Officer, responsible for the delivery of key services to the LSM Business ranging from technical to business process changes. The team provides the architecture and the delivery skills and resources required to support business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities As a member of the Agile team, the Senior Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. They are the team's product authority, setting priorities and making product related decisions. They have responsibility for managing stakeholder relationships. Working closely with stakeholders (business and technology), including LOB leadership, they define and prioritize features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. Understands customers' problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the team is focused on the most valuable work. The Senior Product Owner must ensure there is an aligned understanding of how the team can provide the highest value to the customer through the lens of the portfolio. Collaborates with other teams, technologies, and architects across portfolios to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support. They manage Deputy Product owners.

About Integrations

The integrations initiative is a core part of the target operating model for the Underwriting Solutions Programme. The Underwriting New Services team is transforming how underwriters operate and manage their business and the integrations initiative is key to ensure enhanced user experience and reduction in manual data entry. This is a complex and technical piece of work with multiple integrations to manage simultaneously.

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product management or equivalent LSM experience
  • Considerable relevant industry or functional experience in insurance and/or integrating multiple applications within an end to end target operating model in other financial services organisations
  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering complex initiatives
  • Agile practitioner capabilities and experience working with or in Agile teams
  • Ability to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders
  • Strong team-work, co-ordination, organization and planning skills
  • Ability to capture complex requirements in a prioritised backlog
  • Ability to understand strategic needs whilst focusing on the customer
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring and managing less experienced product owners
