Python Developer

We are currently recruiting for a Python Developer to join the Data Science of a global Analytics and Insight Business based near to Ealing. They are operating a flexible working model and would require a presence in the office ideally 2 days a week.

Job details

The Research and Data Science team provides scientific and technical expertise, support, oversight, and methodological development to the global operating services. As a team they deliver projects for both internal stakeholders and customers. The types of projects range from statistical matching, to classification problems.

We are looking for a Python developer with interest and acumen for data science problems. Your primary focus is to develop and scale tools and approaches to serve the clients. you will also be involved in building the cloud infrastructure for key products, ensuring solutions are well built and scalable. This role will help the communication between the Data Science and DevOps teams.

Python Developer Duties

  • Improve and maintain the code developed by the data scientists (mathematical and statistical algorithms), scale and enhance existing libraries
  • Drive development best practices
  • Own the cloud infrastructure for data scientists and key products, ensuring they have a secure and capable environment for development
  • Interact with colleagues and clients to identify product requirements
  • Research the latest data science deployment solutions and work with the wider data science community, both internally and externally, to ensure you are continually pushing boundaries

Skills and Competencies

  • A strong, applied understanding of Python
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, alongside an appetite to implement these within the context of AI product development
  • Understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, both technical and non-technical
  • Capability of taking initiative and working independently
  • Proven track record of managing projects independently

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge of C++
  • Previous experience in statistical matching and segmentation techniques
  • Experience deploying machine learning models into Azure or another cloud environment
  • Experience in continuous deployment and/or continuous integration pipelines
