Process Digitalization Project Manager & Business Analyst - Permanent - UK Wide
My client an Investment Fund with an Environmental purpose are looking to take on a Hybrid Process Digitalization Project Manager & Business Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis. Location is flexible though some UK travel will be required. The main offices are in London, Wakefield, Birmingham Manchester and Exeter, but currently they are working remotely. They will be going back to an agile working environment with most people in an office only part of the week.
Main Purpose of the Job
My client has introduced some initial pieces of process digitalization into workflows using the Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Flow, PowerApps), and now want to recruit to accelerate the digitalization of processes. This will stem from agreement with the business process owners as to what a digitally enabled process is like, developing the workflow/ solution for each process and project managing the implementation of each process, in collaboration with the business process owner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities.
My client is a collection of mid-sized professional services firms so the scale and change management challenge is not like a large enterprise client. They are aiming for clear, easy to use processes that make life easier for their 800+ users. Some of the challenges include:
Agreeing what each process should be with the stakeholders, making good use of workflows and technology as a result. Developing solutions that are easy for business process owners (with help) to maintain and adjust. Project managing (with the business process owner for each process) a clear and effective implementation, embedding each process into normal business practices.
My client are also embarking on an ERP roll out / implementation, and so with support you will play a key role in the Global Design phase including:
Support in the gathering and documentation of business requirements. Documenting, designing and developing 'to be' processes for core process areas e.g. Procure to Pay (PTP), Orders to Cash (OTC), RevRec etc. Finding opportunities to standardize and optimize processes before they are migrated to new ERP. Resolving Management Information requirements where appropriate ensuring that the new ERP system adequately replicates or substitutes existing reporting.
Key skills for the Hybrid Process Digitalization Project Manager & Business Analyst are as follows:
Development of workflows with MS SharePoint/ Flow/ Power Apps; and Process mapping/ analysis. An understanding of typical HR/ Finance/ IT processes. Process mapping and workflows experience. Experience of Project management and Change Management of application implementation. Involvement with ERP roll outs and Low code app development would be beneficial.
- Process documentation tools e.g. Visio
- Understand business processes and what the shared service and business unit leaders want.
- Experience with project and change management to push through the implementation stage and embed the processes into use (with the business process owners)
- Ability to adjust the workflows based on user feedback.
- Ability to develop workflows yourself in low/no-code development platform like Microsoft SharePoint/ PowerApps will be useful for prototyping processes.
The ability to document and build business process maps and have an eye for driving continued optimization of these processes over time. Data management is important to process, so an understanding of good data management practice would be useful. Using data to provide good process analytics to process owners is also important. An understanding of Power BI and process measurements would be useful. Low-code development skills, a process mindset and the drive to push and make things happen. Management consulting experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
