Technical Delivery Manager - Web Agency - PHP

My client is a development agency who focus on building experiences and tech solutions.

They have a real family feel and pride themselves on the culture they have promoted so the successful candidate will have the backing of the brand but also the entrepreneurial aspects of working at a start-up.

They are looking for a Delivery Manager who has worked with PHP in the past to lead a small, cross functional team.

The role requires leading on technical strategy and development across the agency as well as mentor and manage a talented team of Project Managers, Developers and Designers to deliver beautiful, cutting edge web solutions for our clients.

This is a key role in the agency. Reporting directly to the MD, it would suit an ambitious, self-motivated, versatile development leader. You'll likely already be in a similar role or senior project management position looking for your next step up, with the profile and responsibilities that come with leading the technical division of an agency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Technical direction - Regular review of Kitty's technical offering and product strategy with the MD and ongoing assessment and management of the tech and tools used
• Pitching and technical planning - Support the sales team and the MD with new business proposals, pitches and SOWs
• Daily Team Management - oversee and coordinate the team of Designers, Developers and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
• Mentoring and coaching - set and maintain coding standards for all developers to follow, including permanent staff, contractors and third-party suppliers

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with current CRM and ERP tools, Fulfillment solutions.
• Web development for WordPress and/or Drupal sites.
• Backend development including PHP, MySQL and some JavaScript.
• Familiarity with both traditional and agile development, and Project Management tools such as Jira.
• Experience of leading and developing teams.

Desirable:

• Experience in an agency environment preferred.
• Experience in frontend development, using HTML and CSS.
• A portfolio of wider development experience is advantageous, such as apps.

As you can see the role is really broad but would present a great opportunity for someone working in an Agency (or wanting to get in to one) who has wider technical project experience with sites and wants to lead a tech division.
