Technical Business Analyst
Our Edinburgh based banking client are currently looking for a Technical BA/Technical Analyst to join their team on an initial 6 month contract
The Tech Analyst performs the analysis required to support the Technology as well as contributing to the individual strategic development of Domains.
The role's primary responsibility is to successfully support the Bank's Technology strategy function, provide research and
deliver assignments, as well as working dynamically with Domain teams and the Technology Strategy CoE to achieve the business vision.
What does this role holder do (Accountabilities)
*Supports execution of the activities of the Technology strategy function and delivers its product backlog, using Agile tools and techniques to enhance customer outcomes.
*Works collaboratively with stakeholders across Technology and the wider bank to get input, as well as supporting activity
*Works on and delivers elements of specific larger team assignments in a continuous , incremental fashion to drive customer value.
*Completes work in the backlog efficiently and reliably while constantly aiming to produce work that delights the customer.
*Carries out research, data management and insight analysis to agitate dialogue and decision making across Technology, as well as ensuring that strategic data quality maintained by the CoE is of a good auditable standard.
*Researches and brings together internal and external information for use in the development of relevant executive papers , speeches, communications and working packs.
*Promotes continuous improvement and looks for opportunities to improve Strategy development in line with evolving techniques.
Risk & Control
*Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes.
*Owning, managing and supervising, within a defined risk appetite, the risks which exist in business areas and support functions.
*Ensuring appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risk: balancing control, customer service and competitive advantage.
*Ensuring that the culture of the business supports balanced risk decisions and compliance with policy, laws and regulations.
*Ensuring that the business has effective mechanisms for identifying, reporting and managing risk and controls.
Knowledge and experience
*Prior experience of conducting business analysis and decision support, ideally in the context of banking and technology.
*Comfortable with handling data and producing reports using a variety of data analysis tools.
*Good understanding of the Technology function and the technology landscape of banking.
*Demonstrates critical thinking and analytical mind-set.
*Ability to produce professional, high quality, info graphics (Visio, Excel) and PowerPoint reports.
*Excellent writing and presentation skills to communicate strategic messages.
*A good understanding of Agile Methodologies with experience of working in an Agile team.
*A very capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to your peers and management level colleagues, with good collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
