Senior Network Engineer

Inside IR35 (would need to operate through an umbrella or as PAYE)

Contract to mid-December 2021

Remote initially then potentially London based

Are you a cisco qualified Network Specialist? Do you have strong skills in managing and troubleshooting in Cisco and Checkpoint? Experienced with AWS? Looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the excellent Network team. Someone who is passionate about delivering an exceptional service in an ever-changing, dynamic, fun and friendly environment, where taking the initiative and trying new things is encouraged.

  • Delivering performant, highly available and secure access to services that are consumed by colleagues

On a daily basis, the role covers the monitoring and supporting all network services in global offices and data centres, connectivity into Cloud Services, delivering continual service improvement of all network services and troubleshooting problem areas as required, providing in depth support to both support and project teams. You will be proactively managing and administer systems that relate to network management, specifically monitoring and analysis tools.

You will also take responsibility for exposing the performance metrics and alerting on the global networks for all internal users to consume, ensuring changes and new products are being delivered with customers in mind and not just focused on feature delivery.

Required Skills

Highly capable in managing and troubleshooting in a Cisco and Checkpoint world, with solid switching and routing skills.

  • Expertise in maximising performance and availability of wireless networking
  • Experience with Cloud Computing e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS etc, specifically hands on experience with AWS
  • Infrastructure-as-code, shell scripting, coding exposure, GIT
  • Production of clear and effective documentation to communicate anything from an idea to a strategy
  • Demonstrable delivery of network performance metrics and alerting
  • Focus on performance, accessibility, security and reliability
  • Understanding of agile development and its core principles

Desirable skills

  • Experience working with Solarwinds, Graphite/Grafana, Heimdall
  • Software Defined Networking
