This Product Owner role will lead the creation of an innovative product offering that aims to provide companies with a new software service combined with an insurance offering. The Product Owner will act as the focal point for the product(s) by seeing through the successful delivery, adoption and iteration.

What you will do

Product Management

  • Manage the Product Backlog day-to-day with some support from a business analyst
  • Make prioritisation decisions based on the client needs and the Product integrity
  • Manage stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle and ensure customer-focused product development
  • Act as the authority on the Product features and functions
  • Keep informed of legal and regulatory developments relevant to Product
  • Required to complete analysis and write Agile stories, with support of a BA
  • Occasional input into the configuration of systems, User Acceptance Testing and other client touch points if requested
  • Measure and where needed escalate for corrective action on the performance of the Product
  • Assist in pitches, lead generation and sales pipeline for Product where requested

Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitate communication between various parties internally and externally
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders as well as the development technical team
  • Act as the point of contact for requirements, project issues and queries on Product
  • Resolve project issues and escalate as needed
  • Develop strong relationships with business units and external vendors

Strategic Planning

  • Support the wider business strategy by contributing expertise and advice
  • Support the overall growth of the Product through executing appropriate strategies; developing and maintaining relationships
  • Contribute to Product strategy development and prioritises operational deliverables
  • Provide support to others to achieve positive results in line with strategy
  • Participate on ad-hoc project groups, ensuring expertise contributes to the achievement of project goals and business success

Environment, Contacts & Relationships

  • Build and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts to ensure delivery meets expectations and deliver a delightful experience to users.
  • Remain aware of the market e.g. competitors, potential changes/risks to ensure practices and outputs are of a sufficiently high standard and contribute to the identification of opportunities and business growth

About you

Must haves:

  • Deep experience working on B2B software products in the financial service space
  • Strong background in complex financial data and the use of analytics
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent tool (JIRA for example)
  • Exposure to embedding PowerBI into front end applications
  • Demonstrable experience of personally championing and owning product(s), taking them to successful launch
  • Understanding of the sensitivities of personal data, its storage and usage
  • Knowledge and experience of delivery in Agile projects across numerous teams

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry
  • Experience with the ingestion, blending and display of multiple data sources into a platform
  • Experience working with software development teams that are both internal and external
