Customs Coordinator - Import

Are you someone with Customs Classification experience looking for a Customs Coordinator temporary role?

My major retail client is looking to take on two candidates on a temporary to permanent basis, in their team to work on the additional Brexit workload for goods crossing the border.

The successful candidate will assist in all areas of Customs activity, directing and supporting multiple third-party brokers in order to ensure the timely customs clearance of goods, with a particular focus on the classification process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build daily work queues for third-party broker for classification
• Act as an escalation point for ad-hoc classification queries from third-party broker
• Action daily Compliance Log to retrieve information from vendors where necessary
• Conduct audit of classification for completeness and accuracy
• Update broker on standing instructions, trade arrangement and Customs regulations

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of Customs requirements and formalities
• Classification experience is essential (EU's Common External Tariff)
• Familiarity with Preferential arrangements and Origin requirements is desirable
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Pivot, Vlookup etc.)
• Comfortable using initiative and making decisions
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
