Lorien's client is going through another exciting period of growth and is looking to bring on a talented Product Owner / Product Manager to join their team on a permanent basis out of their offices in London. You will play a pivotal role in delivering the overall consumer and customer digital experience to deliver the best products and features for their customers

About the role:

You will be working collaboratively across a mix of product and centralised teams, together working towards our client's strategy. The Product Owner role sits within the Product Team and is responsible for helping to shape and deliver the Product strategy that underpins their consumer and customer proposition by shaping the vision and objectives for the team and driving the delivery of the roadmap. You will report to the Head of Product and works closely with other Product Owners, Engineering, Design, Architecture and Operations.

Maintain a backlog of improvements for your area, clearly describing how they support our overall business goals and work with the Head of Product to prioritise these alongside the wider priorities for the domain

  • Accountable for fully realising the business benefit associated with your products/initiatives
  • On-going ownership and monitoring of the products and functionality owned by the team
  • Define the objectives and KPIs for the team's products and initiatives
  • Benchmark product performance against external organisations or industry standards
  • Create and validate business cases that underpin the product/initiative, with clear definition of opportunity, costs, and benefit
  • Working closely with user experience specialists and visual designers to re-work existing experiences, as well as creating new ones
  • Work with engineers and technical architects to understand technology limitations, recommendations and development options

About you:

You will ideally have a proven track record in a Product Owner role from within an ecommerce / online business and truly understand the challenges and work arounds about engaging with the end user and keeping them engaged.

  • Ability to form ideas and concepts and deliver these quickly but effectively
  • Linking numerous different initiatives across teams together with overlapping features
  • Technical background working with API's, multiple platforms and software releases within a business
  • Stakeholder management is key;
    • 3rd party customers and supplier integrations (Land Registry, Department of Education, Royal Mail, Experian)
    • Internal stakeholders engagement
  • Running Sprints and Scrum
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability and ability to work effectively with peers whilst goals are changing.
  • Excellent working relationships with Business Analysts, knowing when to hand off responsibilities
