Configuration Manager / Configuration Management / ITIL / Service Management

Our client, a leading Financial Services organisation in Telford, is looking to recruit a Configuration Manager to join their IT function. The position will be based in Telford on a permanent basis.

The purpose of the Configuration Manager is to embed the configuration management process into IT and ensure it is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible. The Configuration Manager will also be responsible for evolving the configuration management strategy within the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will hold the following skills and experience:

  • Deep knowledge of Configuration Management principles and methodologies
  • Hands-on knowledge Configuration Management process
  • Understanding of the Software Delivery & ITIL Service Management lifecycles
  • CMDB and Application dependency mapping
  • Good knowledge of IT Infrastructure & Applications
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle with a formal qualification such as Prince 2 preferred (desirable)

The ideal candidate will hold significant experience working in a Configuration Management role in an organisation that provides on-prem, 3rd party and cloud services. You will ideally hold knowledge in 'traditional' Waterfall & CI/CD delivery modes and application dependency mapping. You will be experienced in Service Management tooling - preferably Service Now - and hold strong experience across ITIL disciplines specifically for Configuration and Change Management in a complex technology environment.
