Senior Platform Engineer - Edinburgh - 6 Months

Our Public Sector client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join their Edinburgh based team on a contract basis.

Key skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of Agile working, including such disciplines as Kanban, feedback, retrospectives, VFQ;
  • Customer focused, through proactive engagement;
  • Risk aware, focused on risk reduction and mitigation;
  • Expertise knowledge in Cisco and Checkpoint technologies;

Networking:

  • Cisco Routing & Switching;
  • Common Design topologies for layer 2 / layer 3 services;
  • Checkpoint / ASA Firewall administration;
  • Experience with Nexus product line;

Networking: (Cont.)

  • Strong knowledge of OSPF design along with performance tuning;
  • Strong knowledge of BGP design and operational management;
  • RSA 2 Factor authentication.

Expertise with data centre management and best practices;

  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Effective team working and technical decision making;
  • Quality focused, due care and attention taken to ensure solutions and platform meet their quality criteria and the team standards set;
  • Experience of designing and leading infrastructure projects;
  • Creativity - taking new approaches to tackle problems; embracing innovation and sharing knowledge with, a range of sources and stakeholders;
  • Certified to CCNP at least.
