Network Architect

As one of Vodafone's key strategic partners we are currently recruiting for a Network Architect to join the team in Newbury on a 6 month contract.

Role Purpose

The Network Architect will have accountability for the technology Target Architecture, in collaboration with a small team of other Product Architect's. The Target Architecture shall define the technology vision for how Vodafone's enterprise connectivity products and enabling network components shall evolve over the next 1-3 years to deliver world class customer products.

The Network Architect will develop a small set of evolution topic areas, turning these topics from high-level ideas and concepts, into scoped, documented and structured activities which can be mobilised and subsequently handed over to the delivery function. Including competitive market assessment, high-level vendor solution comparison, potential development timeline, targeted proof of concepts, business case framework, etc.

The successful Network Architect will have extensive experience as a Network and Solution Architect. With an excellent understanding of established network technologies include IP/MPLS, Security, Ethernet/OTN/DWDM, LAN/WiFi and Datacentre. The Product Architect shall also have a very strong and current understanding of the SD-WAN and NFV market. Along with strong understanding of Systems and Tools to enable network technologies to be operated, managed and sold at a Service Provider scale.

Must have core expertise in established network technologies:

  • IP Networking (WAN & LAN)
  • Ethernet
  • Security solutions
  • LAN and WiFi
  • Datacentre
  • SD-WAN and NFV
  • Mobility and Mobile Data Services

Must have core expertise in enabling Systems and Tools:

  • Fault management
  • Performance management
  • Big data and analytics
  • Orchestration
  • Service fulfilment platforms
  • Experience with IT Managed Services desired, preferably with ITIL, eTOM or TOGAF experience
