The role

You will help lead the architecture, design and development of Greenfield Java solutions, frameworks and micro-services required to build their next generation platform using the latest technology and cutting edge practices as they deploy their systems in a Cloud and DevOps production environment.

Alongside engineering their scalable, distributed, enterprise systems, you will take get to immerse yourself in a multitude of challenging full lifecycle projects including the design and build of multiple APIs to banks, ApplePay gateways, GooglePay gateways, Open Banking and Banking Light.

You will need experience of:

  • Java 8 and upwards
  • Building Microservices, registration and discovery i.e. eureka (nice to have)
  • RESTful APIs
  • Spring Boot, Spring Data / JPA, Frameworks
  • Docker / Docker Compose
  • Kubernetes
  • Excellent knowledge of underlying JVM, java annotation, lightweight frameworks and multi-threading
  • Testing Frameworks i.e. JUnit, Mockito, Wiremock
  • Application Design and Architecture
  • Database experience (MySQL)
  • Proven exposure to full life cycle development including production

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience of developing a highly scalable, distributed B2C system
  • Cloud Deployment experience
  • Experience working in a continuous integration or continuous delivery environment using Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket Pipelines or equivalent tools
  • Spring Cloud Gateway / Zuul / RabbitMQ
  • Understanding of coding enterprise applications within Java
  • Experience in bug tracking systems, with a preference for in-depth knowledge of JIRA
  • DevOps Experience
  • AWS/GCP/Rancher/Docker Swarm
